Ha.
I didn't get a new bathroom, but I did get a new perpsective.
At this precise moment, my bathroom was swatches of sevreal paints on the wall, pieces of decor and multiple half done projects on the counter.
I'm not going to do it now. As hard as it is for me to not meet a goal, I'm going to be realistic and acknoweldge that right now, the boys bathroom will just have to wait.
And amazingly, I'm okay with that! I keep remembering the words my first professional mentor told me:
I certainly learned something!

Good for you. Sometimes we have to realize real life is more important than redoing a room.
ReplyDeleteThanks! My husband keeps trying to remind me that my deadlines are self imposed . I tHink I should take your advice to take 15 minutes a day for myself ,too.
DeleteThat's ok...the house is still yours to redo when you have the time :-).
ReplyDeleteSometimes life gets in the way and that's okay. Bathroom renos is not something that can easily be done over 6 weeks. Pat yourself on the back for taking the leap to start it and over time I'm sure you will be happier with the results as you have more time to really pick things you love :)
ReplyDeleteIt was still very inspiring to watch all of you! Thanks for the encouragment!
DeleteA bath reno is tough, especially as a busy mom! The next ORC is October, hope to see you then!
ReplyDeleteGood for you for knowing what is best for you now. Personally, I'd wait until those two boys go to college. It is amazing how creative boys can be while peeing. I had an only who always had lots of playmates. Save your money and your time on this project and invest it in something that doesn't require disinfectants.
ReplyDeleteVERY valid point! I told my husband that once they are teenagers, I'm never entering the room again...
DeleteLife DOES get in the way. But don't fret...you are in good company. I didn't finish either!
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear I'm not alone! We'll get there!
DeleteLove that you linked up anyway! I didn't quite finish, either. We left a huge project too late.
ReplyDeleteI was really torn, in the end I decided the failures are still part of the story!
DeleteI couldn't breathe, never mind renovate a bathroom, when my kids were that age! Snuggle with them now that they still will and get to the bathroom later. ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Congrats again to you and your son!
DeleteYep, good for you! My own room did not get completely finished and I am absolutely ok with that.
ReplyDeleteIt's always about the process. I'm glad you found what was right for your family. I did not do much when my kids were young. All I wanted to do was nap :).
ReplyDeleteTotally understand dear, good luck though, and hope to see you try to join again in the next ORC!
ReplyDeleteAs they say....you gotta know when to fold em....it's OK!
